Cebu Pacific Launches Inaugural Manila-Chiang Mai Flights, Expanding Its Network

New direct route offers Filipinos quicker travel, more savings & easier access to Thailand’s top attractions

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, inaugurated on October 29, 2024, its direct flights from Manila to Chiang Mai, offering Filipinos a seamless and affordable way to visit the mountainous region of northern Thailand.

The Manila-Chiang Mai flights will operate three times weekly—every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

CEB, the only Philippine carrier offering direct flights to Chiang Mai, marked the route’s launch with a celebration at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, attended by Ambassador Tull Traisorat of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines and Yatika Kaewborisoot, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

At the event, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao emphasized the airline’s commitment to expanding travel opportunities for passengers, saying, “For years, Cebu Pacific has been dedicated to connecting Filipinos not only to essential destinations, but also to popular places that were previously difficult to reach. More than adding to Cebu Pacific’s growing network, the launch of the Manila-Chiang Mai route also serves as a testament to Cebu Pacific’s commitment to making air travel more accessible for every Juan.”

This new route offers a quicker journey to Chiang Mai, cutting travel time by up to 8 hours and saving passengers up to 64% on flight costs.

With direct flights now available, Filipino travelers can easily experience Chiang Mai’s famous Lantern Festival every November, explore the city’s renowned temples like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and bring home exquisite Thai handicrafts, all while enjoying greater convenience and savings.

To commemorate the inaugural flight, passengers were treated to Thai snacks and travel essentials from TAT before boarding.
