Operated by LIPAD, Clark Is the Philippines’ International Airport of the Year

CRK praised for exceptional passenger services and contributions to global travel excellence

Clark International Airport (CRK) was recently named the International Airport of the Year–Philippines at the 2024 TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards–Asia. Organized by Travel Daily Media, these awards recognize outstanding achievements in the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism industry, honoring exceptional contributions across sectors such as airports, hotels, airlines, and travel technology. The program emphasizes innovation, customer experience, and industry leadership.

This achievement, presented during the awards gala in Singapore on November 26, 2024, highlights CRK’s exceptional passenger services and transformative contributions to regional and global travel excellence. It also underscores the airport’s growing influence in Asia’s competitive aviation landscape.

Located in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, CRK is operated by the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation. This special purpose company is backed by shareholders including Filinvest Development Corporation, JG Summit Holdings Inc., Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions Inc., and Changi Airports Philippines Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Changi Airports International.

“We are deeply honored to receive this prestigious award, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Clark International Airport,” said Noel F. Manankil, President and CEO of LIPAD. “This recognition inspires us to continue improving, innovating, and providing exceptional service to our passengers. We trust that this award will encourage more passengers to discover CRK as their travel gateway and attract more airline partnerships, as we strive to elevate this world-class hub for seamless connectivity.”

CRK’s pursuit of excellence is further demonstrated through its adherence to Minimum Performance Specifications and Standards (MPSS), ensuring that the airport consistently meets global quality benchmarks. Regular passenger feedback and third-party audits, conducted in partnership with Airports Council International (ACI), play a key role in enhancing its facilities, services, and operations.

As a member of ACI, which represents the collective interests of over 2,100 airports in 169 countries, LIPAD adheres to global best practices and upholds the highest standards of aviation excellence. This partnership allows CRK to strengthen its position as a vital gateway for local and international travelers while making a meaningful impact on the aviation sector.

JG Summit’s investment in LIPAD marks its first successful venture in Philippine infrastructure development through a public-private partnership. Through CRK, the conglomerate aims to enhance the infrastructure capacity of Northern and Central Luzon, driving sustainable and inclusive economic growth in alignment with its commitment to nation-building.
