Robinsons Hotels & Resorts to Expand Grand Summit; Upscale Brand's 4th Hotel to Open in Bohol

Grand Summit Panglao brings upscale hospitality to Bohol, boosting tourism, jobs & sustainability

Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR), the hospitality business unit of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), is further strengthening its presence in the Philippine tourism sector with the development of Grand Summit Panglao in Bohol. Strategically located on a 7,737-square-meter prime beachfront property, the upcoming hotel will feature over 200 premium rooms designed to meet the needs of both leisure and business travelers seeking sophisticated yet comfortable accommodations.

Grand Summit Panglao is designed to embody the natural and cultural richness of Bohol, seamlessly integrating elements of the island’s biodiversity into its architecture and interiors. This thoughtful approach creates an immersive guest experience that reflects the destination’s unique character. With the upcoming hotel's ocean wave-inspired façade signifying a commitment to eco-conscious design and responsible operations, RHR affirms that sustainability remains central to its development strategy.

Grand Summit Panglao marks the fourth property under the Grand Summit brand, following established locations in General Santos City and Cebu, with an additional site set to open in Pangasinan. Since the launch of its first Grand Summit hotel in 2021, RHR has pursued a strategic expansion plan, catering to the increasing demand for upscale accommodations in key growth destinations across the Philippines.

"We are excited to welcome guests to Grand Summit Panglao to support the booming tourism sector’s call for a quality, upscale hotel brand," says Barun Jolly, Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager of RHR.

Panglao’s strong tourism growth reinforces the strategic significance of this expansion. According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), the island saw a 122% year-on-year increase in overnight travelers in 2023. The continued rise in tourist arrivals, coupled with infrastructure developments such as the expansion of the Bohol-Panglao International Airport, has positioned Panglao among the top destinations for hospitality investment. In line with this, the 2024 Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report by the Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) and Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) ranked Panglao second among nationwide destinations for upcoming hotel developments. Mactan, Cebu, also in the Visayas region, tops the list.

Grand Summit Panglao is designed to offer a premium hospitality experience, with a range of amenities that cater to both local and international travelers. The property will feature an all-day dining restaurant, specialty dining options, a full-service spa, a fitness center, an expansive ballroom for events, and direct access to Panglao’s renowned diving and beach attractions.

“With the guests at the center of everything we do, we are committed to bringing the warmth of Filipino hospitality to the shores of Panglao. We are also cognizant of the important role Robinsons Hotels and Resorts play in driving employment opportunities and workforce expansion,” says Annalyn Yap, Vice President of RHR.

As Robinsons Hotels and Resorts expands its footprint in the Philippines, it reinforces its position as a leader in the hospitality industry with high-quality accommodations, exceptional guest experiences, and a steadfast commitment to sustainability across its developments and operations.
