URC Partners with Ninja Van Philippines to Streamline Product Distribution

Universal Robina Corporation Innovates Distribution Efficiency with Ninja Van Collaboration

Universal Robina Corporation (URC), one of the Philippines' leading branded consumer food and beverage companies, has entered into a strategic partnership with Ninja Van Philippines to enhance the distribution and restocking of its products in key regions. The collaboration aligns with URC’s dedication to utilizing technology to optimize operations and deliver improved service to its retail partners.

“In URC we believe in the power of technology to improve the way we do things, and we are constantly seeking ways to deliver value in all stages of our operations, from supply chain and production, to distribution and retail,” said Irwin Lee, URC President and CEO.

During the trial phase, URC used Ninja Restock, Ninja Van’s flagship B2B logistics service, to streamline the pickup, sorting, and distribution of its products to retail outlets in South Luzon. The partnership allows URC to reach a diverse range of retail touchpoints, from large malls to smaller formats like convenience stores and local grocery outlets. Ninja Restock taps into Ninja Van’s extensive logistics network, ensuring swift and efficient last-mile deliveries.

“Ninja Restock is an innovation that aims to help fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies and other big brands to stay agile with the evolving nature of retail distribution,” said Vin Perez, Ninja Van Philippines Country Head.

By introducing Ninja Restock into its operations, URC products now get picked up, sorted, and then rolled out for last-mile delivery to various retail formats at speeds comparable to e-commerce purchases. Through Ninja Restock, URC gains the ability to co-load smaller quantities of products with other shipments, eliminating the need to wait for a full truckload before restocking stores. This flexibility enhances delivery speed and efficiency, providing a competitive edge in meeting the needs of a dynamic retail landscape.

To deepen its understanding of advanced logistics systems, URC’s regional management team, led by Lee, recently visited Ninja Van’s state-of-the-art Cabuyao warehouse, the company’s largest automated sorting facility in Southeast Asia. The tour was part of URC’s leadership conference, which focused on digital transformation and the “Factory of the Future.”

“We welcome the opportunity to work together with a partner that shares our vision for tech-enablement and efficiency,” said Lee.
